As if all three German manufacturers had arranged with the fact that the model T of the E-Class always will have the biggest loading capacity even though in the next generation. So it doesn't matter 10 percent to lose of its load capacity in the newesr model, thanks to the ever more oblique and elegant rear. Fine chrome-fitted trims not only to the roof rails, the side windows and the indicated diffuser region benefit.

Over the entire width the upper edge of the rear lights are also connected with a trim strip giving only little space to the Mercedes trademark directly under the rear screen. The D-pillar is visually narrowed by clean fitted plastic panels. Various artifices make the tailgate to a successful, integrated part of the vehicle rear.

Chromium on the side, too. But also very small, for example very deep at the side bottom. Interesting is still the top of the window that remains constantly high even at the rear door. For adults its increase make it more comfortable to enter the rear seats and enjoy to be seated there. If the 40: 20: 40 devided seatback is tilted forwards by front or rear operated buttons a flat surface makes loading easy.

Despite less cargo space, the third rear seat has been preserved. The drives for the year 2016 are shown above. Still missing the expected hybrid. Cheaper models with manual transmission will be presented probably later, but even then it is hard for buyers to limit the purcase price at 'only' 50,000 euros. 06/16
